How about we talk about ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can vote and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can vote on it.

  1. Angular 101

I've been taking a deep dive into the angularjs framework and would like to do a talk about how the various parts fit together.

    • ScriptCS

I don't know much about it, but I'd like to.

From what I understand, ScriptCS lets you write standalone scripts using C# which can be run interactively (without the overhead of creating classes, compiling and executing, etc).

This didn't originally sound too appealing, but since using F# (which can be scripted and run interactively) my development approach has changed quite significantly, and it's one of the things I miss when I go back to C#.

Maybe ScriptCS will help C# have the best of both worlds?

      • A look at TypeScript and CS-Script

TypeScript is a typed superset of JavaScript that compiles to plain JavaScript. Scott Hanselman recently described TypeScript as JavaScript the way a C# developer would want it.

The main idea of CS-Script is to allow "plain vanilla" C# code execution from both command-prompt and form any CLR application hosting the script engine.

        • Unity - Getting Started

Having installed Unity and found myself intimidated by the IDE I feel being taught by someone that knows what they're doing may be a good plan! Coincidentally I have a colleage who has Unity knowledge in a reasonably large project and has expressed a willingness to join and enlighten us!

                • Design Patterns by Example

It would be great if we could get a handful of LeedsSharpers to pick one design pattern and just give a five to ten minute review of the pattern, followed by everyone coding an example of this pattern, then the next pattern etc.

Would anyone be up for that?

Alternatively, I have the InnerWorkings Design Patterns coding exercises and various books on Design Patterns. I'm sure between us we can get something together.

This will be a good session for both, coders unfamiliar with design patterns and also seasoned coders already familiar with design patterns for deliberate practice.

                  • Game AI Applied to Robots

Sharpy the (iRobot Create) robot is back! And this time we'll be giving him (her?) some Artificial Intelligence.
We'll be walking through building a simple Finite State Machine and looking at how we might apply this to a robot.

Really like it if someone did a short presentation on making it as an individual or small software house. Pros and cons. Experiences.
